                  CHAPTER-51-SG-Y-2-S-4 (WINTER-1661)       

    The entire town of Glen Harbor was entering early winter in the year of 1661 and it was clear and sunny that day though it was cold enough for frost to cover the ground.The residents were having fun going fishing at the pool and enjoying studying skills though gardening was confined to the planter pots until spring.They were lucky if shipments made it through in the winter and settlers might travel from other places along land to get to their new towns.

    Eli and Ami Jankowsky had gone to visit the town pool on that first day of winter and they ended up going fishing in the pool for a while.They were hoping it would be a dry winter without a bunch of snow since that would allow ships to have a chance of getting in and might allow a new family to arrive and settle into town.They had a great day of fishing at the pool and had to stop to eat.

    They were eating at the pool that day as it was getting dark outside.It was cold though it was clear and had been sunny earlier in the day.Eli had gone to throw up in the washroom at the pool once after eating though they'd been trying for a baby for the past four days.They had enjoyed the day and had started heading back home after eating because it was already 6:30 and they were tired.

    Eli Jankowsky had been getting sick and throwing up occasionally over the next two days and even threw up one evening after getting home from work.It was still cold and clear weather so far that winter though it had gotten cold enough for snow if it had been damp enough.The other residents were also enjoying themselves and getting settled into the town and their colonial lives.

    It was clear that Eli might have to endure getting sick and throwing up for at least a few more days before she'd be starting to show as pregnant.An empty lot near Garden Market was getting flattened and prepared for a house to be put down on it.The town had gotten word of possible new residents moving in and they needed to make sure there was a house for the newcomers.

    A new house went up one night and it was the next evening when there was a new family arriving in town unprepared for the season they were dealing with.They'd been living on an island near where Haiti would be in modern times and they ended up deciding to head a little further north to settle near the Chesapeke Bay where it might get colder in the winter season.

    It was very cold out and they had a hard frost to deal with.Davis Bell had arrived on the sailing ship that was heading up the coast before sailing back to Europe.She had her husband Lacey with her and they could only afford to get as far as Glen Harbor and they'd just have to find a place to settle down there and make it their new home.They were planning on this being where they'd always live.

    Davis and Lacey Bell were up the next morning after their evening arrival and they had gotten ready for the day quickly before they decided to start studying skills on their iPads.It was cooking skill first before they moved on to studying gardening skill using their iPads to study the skills online.They decided to spend most of their first day working on learning the new skills they needed.

    They did move on to learning gardening in the afternoon though they were studying it on the iPads for most of the afternoon.They'd both taken turns to get changed into warmer clothing earlier since it was winter and they'd arrived dressed for a tropical climate which was where they'd been living.They also went out later to Garden Market and got part-time jobs at the diner.

    It was the next day over at Rudy Wagner's house where both Rudy and Lacey had been in regular attendance at the school of the streets every day.This meant they were gathering honey from hives and selling it at the elixir shop and harvesting from the gardens to sell produce to the grocery store daily.It had been getting cold and frost was on the ground every morning when they woke up.

    Eli and Ami Jankowsky woke up the next morning to see frost on the ground again and Eli had gotten sick again though it was after eating leftovers for breakfast and she thought it was from the spoiled food she'd been eating.She went out to toss the paper out and ended up changing her outfit before going out because she was pregnant and had to get into her maternity clothing.

    She ended up going fishing later when Ami left for work though she was supposed to have work.She wasn't at work because she'd gotten a call and was put on maternity leave until her baby grew to a child.She was able to enjoy fishing at the local pool where there were fish swimming around.They'd had en exciting day and were looking at having a child and possibly another later on.

    Davis and Lacey Bell were once again busy studying cooking skill on their iPads as they needed it for their jobs at the diner.It had been frosty earlier though it warmed up and the frost had thawed out.It was already late winter and the season was almost over and spring was due to start up in a few short days.They were both looking at getting further in their jobs and saving their money.

    Eli and Ami were studying skills on their iPads again and it was very close to the end of winter and Eli was still not showing a big baby bump yet though she wasn't able to wear regular clothing because it got too tight.It was another cols frosty day though it was clear and sunny outside that day.It was that time when everybody was worried about the supplies and eating up their leftovers.

    Davis and Lacey decided to allow themselves to become slobs because it was going to make survival easier in their new hometown when winter could stop supply shipments from getting through until food had run out and forced them to start eating their preserved foods after fresh ingredients and leftovers had run out as they entered early spring and would have to wait for a harvest.
     Everybody from Glen Harbor was waiting to greet the arrival of spring and the start of the new year as 1661 drew to a close and they started the year of 1662.Everybody was excited to start living in the new year and to start making the changes they intended to make over the coming year.Eli was expecting to be starting to look after a baby and raising a child though she was off work for the next three years and six years after that the child would get older and eventually move out to their own place.


    NEXT
