     GLEN HARBOR LEGACY-CHAPTER-55-SG-Y-3-S-4

It was late at night in Glen Harbor when more construction was done on the town's new gym to build the annex building.Winter was arriving in the morning and everybody was still having to do the last minute preparations on the first morning and check to make sure they were ready for a cold snowy winter. The reports according to the farmer's almanac were predicting that the colonial settlements would be facing the coldest, longest and hardest winter of all in the coming season. The town called a halt effective as of that moment to all new constrction unless the building's shell was already built and rooms had to be partitioned or it just needed furnishings.
The local residents of the town were all still going to be getting the last stocking up done before winter arrived since they might not see and supply shipments coming in until well into the following spring. It was also time to start digging out winter clothing and winter outerwear like snowsuits to have them ready before the winter storms hit and buried the town in monster snowdrifts.
Rudy Wagner and Lacey Walker had to stock up on the first day of winter since they'd find it hard to get into town if the roads became so drifted with snow that they got closed to all traffic except for foot traffic. It was already very cold out though it had been clear and sunny for those first days of winter.Everybody was starting to get their snowsuits on over those first days of winter.
The first few days of winter were very cold and the temperature was dropping over those first few days though it had remained clear and sunny.Nobody wanted to be caught short if it started snowing and the storms turned into the worst blizzards of all.The wind started picking up and it became increasingly cloudy over that third day of winter as the day progressed.
The Bell family had decided to change their house furnishings and set up the bunk bed they'd ordered which had arrived in the fall. They had gotten tired of not having a stove and with cold winter weather they wanted hot meals again. It had begun to snow lighly by mid-morning and it was getting very heavy by noon with gale force winds and snow was starting to cover the ground and roads.
It was a full blow blizzard in town by late in the afternoon with the temperature down to -25*C and winds were at 75mph and about to get up to 100mph with gusts up to 125mph.The town made an official announcement that the roads were being closed to all traffic except foot traffic because ssnowdrifts were almost ten feet high on the roads and cars were getting stuck on the roads.
The Bells had decided to take advantage of the blizzard still raging the next day to build an igloo and ended up trying to get a baby started in the new igloo.Davis though she might be pregnant though it would be too soon to tell. They'd seen no traffic at all thay day unless the travelers were walking since the snow was too deep for anything else and the food truck was stopped until spring.
The blizzards were so bad over the middle of the season that roads got buried in deep snow and families had doors get buried and had to start digging themselves out.The Ivanovitch family had been lucky there with their overhangs and the rest of the families would be planning on adding those overhangs to their own houses over the warmer weather in the spring and over the summer.
Residents in Glen Harbor had gotten onto the rooftops of their houses numerous times in the winter to clear snow off their roofs before their houses could collapse on them. They knew to do that after having heard of one family buried under their collapsed house a few years back in Salem,Massechusettes and about another family in the winter of 1620 in Twinbrook near Salem.
It was late winter when the Frankovitch family finally got to build snowmen and to tend to their lots after being snowbound for most of the winter like everybody else.It was still snowing out though the blizzard was easing up and it might be over soon. The temerature had risen and it was only down to -10*C at that time with the residents starting to prepare to dig themselves out.
The residents of Glen harbor were starting to run out of fresh food and the leftovers they'd stored in fridges were starting to go bad as winter neared it's end.It was starting to clear up and become sunny as the snow let up and eventually stopped falling. The Bell family hope the snow would begin melting soon because they wanted to get their house rebuilt after the old one collapsed in a windstorm.
It was on the last day of winter that the snow finally started to melt away and they were seeing patches of bare ground for the first time since early in the season when the blizzards buried them in snow. This meant that the roads would be opened to traffic again very soon once the snow was cleared up and the ground dried up with warmer sunny spring weather as the new season progressed.
It was time for everybody to ditch the snowsuits for lighter outerwear though they'd still be wearing boots for a while with the soggy and mucky ground. It would still get blow freezing overnight in early spring and might sometimes get hot later in the season. It was also time for residents to begin construction projects on their houses or outbuildings they were adding to their properties.
