PREVIOUS MID SUMMER-Day-10
Eli and Ami Jankowsky were both up very early that morning and it was actually still dark outside when they first got up in the morning to get cleaned up and get themselves ready for the new day.They both ended up eating bowls of cereal for breakfast and had to wait until daybreak to start working on the garden areas in Garden House and Garden Market.
They both ended up having to find other things to do until it was daylight and they could start on the gardens and they both started studying gardening while they waited for the sun to rise.It was fully up by 5AM.
Eli was ready to start working on the garden at Garden House soon after 5AM and Ami started heading for Garden Market to get to work on that garden though it took home a few extra minutes to get to his garden area to work on it.This was a lot better than facing being in a workhouse or being beggars living out on the streets without any kind of shelter and starving if nobody was willing to give them help.
It was also very likely that most others were in the same position and wouldn't be able to help.They decided that immigrating and colonizing was better than being slaves to some workhouse.
Ami did manage to arrive at Garden Market in a reasonably short time and was quick to get himself to work harvesting the garden produce there soon after he'd arrived.He started with the fruit trees and got to harvest from the money tree which would be a big help later on when they had to sell the money bags for some cash.
They were both glad they wouldn't have to face either being forced to work on somebody else's farm as cheap labor and ending up slowly starving to death and being very deeply in debt to their employer for the food they needed to eat and their clothing.It was what drove them to leave home.
Eli was finished with the fruit trees by 10AM and had moved on to the smaller plants and was harvesting produce from those and it would end up taking her until 4PM to get done with the garden.It was very hot and they were struggling to avoid overheating in the scorching hot summer weather they were having at the time.
Eli didn't want to find that choosing to not come would end their family lines because they'd never be able to have kids unless they came to a new colony to settle and start out on new adventures and have new
opportunities.
They were both scared that they might've never been able to have any children or continue their family line if they chose to stay on and hope things would eventually get better.They bot wisely knew that you would have to make your own opportunities and make your own luck by making the necessary changes to your life.
Ami was also working on the smaller produce at Garden market and it was starting to get fairly late in the day and he still had a ways to go before the work was done for the day.He knew that his work was to be finished by 5PM.
Ami was bust showering and getting ready to eat soup for dinner and Eli had just finished her work and gone right over to Garden Market and would have a shower before selling her produce for some cash at the grocery store and she'd eat dinner after that.
Eli did get through the selling and managed to get some dinner after making the sale.She was glad they were both going to be able to head for their own lot by 7PM.They both were anxious to get the next wall section built on their new house before going to bed in their new tent that night.It was giving them a chance for a better future.
They both had to buy the framing and drywall for the new section they were adding to the walls of their new house.It was supposed to be built before summer came to an end and fall was getting started because fall would bring some cold weather and hard frosts most nights.
They both knew that getting the second section of wall up meant there would still be at least four more days before all of the walls were built and they still had to get the washroom walled in and get the siding up and put on a roof before adding windows and doors to finish the house off.
Ami got busy paying their low bills and Eli was already heading to the tent and getting inside to get herself to sleep by7:30 in the evening.They both hoped it would remain warm and not get frosty during the night because it was getting very near to the end of the summer season.
They both knew that they'd very soon have to get new outfits planned for the coming fall season and make them a bit warmer than their current summer outfits.They also both knew that they'd have to set up warmer outerwear very soon as well because of the cooler fall weather.
They both managed to get to sleep by 8PM at the latest and it did end up remaining fairly mild that night or they might've had to get up to move themselves to Garden House in the night to finish sleeping there if it had gotten very cold and frosted over.
