LATE SUMMER-DAY-13
Eli and Ami Jankowsky got themselves up very early that morning in late summer to get to Garden House and get themselves showered and ready for the coming day.They planned on getting to work and harvesting as much as they could that day though there might not be as much to harvest so late in the season.They figured out that today's harvest might allow them to get closer to finishing their house.
It was something they expected to have to deal with while settling down to their new lives in the new colony.This was better than starving to death in a terrible famine.
Ami started for garden Market to get the produce harvested from that garden while Eli was to be working with the Garden House garden area.It was still very early when Ami arrive to start working on the garden and he ended up working very hard in that garden until he'd harvested everything he could before the harvest produce was gone. He still remembered how they often had enough food to eat when they were children though times were always very hard though things had gotten worse over the years as they both started growing up and maturing.
Eli had to start with harvesting from the money tree before getting to the other fruit trees in the garden and that would be a very big help to them in building their house that evening.This would be nothing like the times they used to play at house as children whenever they had the time to play.
Those games were about them imagining what it would be like for them as adults and they kept imagining themselves as a married couple when they were just children.She was working hard in the garden and this time the house was real and they would really be the married couple.
Eli and Ami both finished the harvesting early in the afternoon and got to have showers and eat lunch after they were done with their day's work.It was bound to happen that they'd end up kissing in the kitchen after eating lunch.
They'd wanted to take things further though they had the sense to know it would be very unwise to risk an unplanned pregnancy at that time when they didn't even have their own house built and would have no shelter for the baby.Ami thought they should wait until the house was built and big enough for their family before they started trying for a baby.
Eli thought the kissing and hugging was fine though they'd have to be very careful to not get carried away before having built their house or saved up enough money to be able to afford the child when they were ready to have one.
They felt that having a chance to be landowners and working their own farms was a step up from what their prospects were in the past.Eli strongly felt that they'd need at least 50000$ in cash savings to even think about having a baby because of the time it would take to raise that child until they were old enough to go to school and feed themselves.
Eli and Ami both went downstairs to play with arcade hoops to start working on their athletic skill because they both had some free time until they had to get to the store to sell the produce and earn some cash for the day.The play went on for most of the afternoon and they stopped early in the evening.
They decided that spending the afternoon kissing and chatting before playing was fine as long as they weren't going to be expecting a baby before they were ready to raise a child.They both agreed that saving up before starting to have a family and raise children was the best choice.
They both wished they'd had games like arcade hoops to use for building their athletic skill up when they were younger and that they could've used these games sooner.They stopped playing at 6:30 and started for the store to sell their produce and earn the cash they needed for the house.They earned only 1250$ from harvesting both gardens.
Eli and Ami both got back to their lot and had to get the trash bin cleaned up and get the old new papers tossed out before they could build the next section of the wall on their house.It was 7:30 when they got that new wall section up and it was already nearly dark outside.
The new wall section meant they only had another one to build to finish the outside walls and they'd have to build the walls for the washroom and do a few other things like adding the floor and roof.They'd also have to add windows and doors to the house before it would be ready to be used. They could at least sleep inside the house then.
They felt it was getting better every day with their house being almost finished to the point where they could start to get moved into the space and would be living in it very soon.
Eli and Ami both got themselves into their tent and got to sleep by 8PM that night with the hopes that it would remain mild and not get too cold at night.They both thought about how they would eventually get part-time jobs after their house was done and they could function more at home.
